Powerline Group Leader | Welland Depot Distro-Tex Pty Ltd | South Australia

About Distro-Tex

Distro-Tex is a proudly South Australian–owned powerline and electrical company with depots in Welland and Kadina. We specialise in Distribution Power Systems and AS3000 installations — work that keeps communities connected across the state.

We’re a tight-knit family company. Our people aren’t just a line on the org chart — they’re the reason we succeed. Without our team, we don’t deliver, and we run the business that way: looking after each other on the job and off it. We believe in investing in our people and are willing to upskill individuals who show the capability to step up.

Our culture

Culture matters to us. We value team cohesion and make time to connect beyond the day-to-day — from an annual AFL Corporate Box Event and Christmas event, through to regular end-of-week catch-ups. We prioritise our culture to ensure you feel just as welcome in our business as you do within your own family and home.

The role

We’re seeking an experienced Powerline Group Leader to join our team at our Welland Depot. This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned distribution powerline professional who still wants to be on the tools — and takes real pride in owning the outcome.

In a small company like Distro-Tex, your contribution is highly visible. You’ll work closely with a dedicated crew, make decisions that matter every day, and see the results of your work on the ground. Ideal if you’re driven to deliver, thrive on a challenge, and bring strong SA Power Networksexperience with a genuine can-do attitude.

You’ll lead a group of 5–10 linesmen, apprentices and GSWs in a hybrid field and office role — balancing day-to-day distribution work with project preparation, scheduling, commercial progress and site supervision. You’ll learn fast, grow your career, and execute a works program to a high standard,

while mentoring apprentices and lifting capability across the team.

At times you’ll support projects out of our Kadina Depot. Where that means staying away from home, accommodation is supplied and Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA) is paid in accordance with our EBA. There are also interstate work projects, with the opportunity to obtain VESI & Glove & Barrier training.
