About Our Client
Our client is a well-established WA organisation with a collaborative and people-focused culture. The procurement team works closely with stakeholders across the business and places a solid emphasis on development, flexibility and providing practical procurement support.
- Manage and support end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities
- Facilitate RFQs, tenders and supplier selection processes
- Provide practical procurement advice to stakeholders across the business
- Support contract establishment, administration and ongoing contract management
- Build strong relationships across a diverse range of internal business units
- Ensure procurement activities align with governance, policy and compliance requirements
- Assist stakeholders to achieve commercial outcomes while maintaining appropriate procurement controls
- Support procurement activity ranging from smaller purchases through to significant long-term engagements
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and stakeholder experience
- Work autonomously across changing priorities and multiple concurrent requirements
The Successful Applicant A successful Procurement Officer should have:
- Previous experience within procurement, purchasing,
sourcing or a related commercial environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to build trusted internal relationships
- Commercially minded and comfortable balancing business needs with procurement requirements
- Self-motivated and confident working autonomously
- Adaptable and comfortable managing changing priorities
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Comfortable facilitating procurement outcomes rather than simply enforcing process
- Open to candidates looking to step up from Procurement Officer or Purchasing Officer level
- Government experience is not required
- Exposure to change management or process improvement would be advantageous
