Company Background
Join an established Australian SaaS business at the centre of payments compliance, processing high volumes of transactions for organisations nationwide. Operating in a tightly regulated space, the company is scaling its reach by embedding its capability inside the platforms its customers already use.
About The Role
As Technical Product Manager you'll own the roadmap for the API and connector suite across two complementary channels. Inbound, software providers build directly against the API through a structured partner programme. Outbound, the business publishes its own prebuilt connectors into major global enterprise marketplaces.
Reporting to the Head of Product, you'll lead a pod alongside a Tech Lead, Business Analyst and engineers, keeping the platform scalable, secure and well governed while sequencing delivery against regulatory change across the payments landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the API roadmap and backlog, balancing commercial priorities, regulatory deadlines and platform quality
- Shape requirements, acceptance criteria and release scope with the Business Analyst and Tech Lead
- Build the business case for each new marketplace connector and manage partner certification requirements
- Establish the company's first published API versioning and deprecation policy
- Maintain an evidence based view of competitor platforms and turn it into roadmap decisions
- Represent product to external integrators and partners, and to internal teams from Sales through to Security
About You
- Product management experience on API or developer platform products, ideally in a regulated environment
- Technical fluency across REST, OAuth2, webhooks and integration patterns, enough to hold design conversations with engineers directly
- Track record delivering external integrations or marketplace connectors with third party platforms
- Crisp written specifications and partner facing documentation
- Comfortable leading through influence without direct reports
- Knowledge of the Australian payments landscape highly regarded
Company Culture
This is a permanent role based in the Sydney CBD with three days per week in the office. You'll join a team that values technical curiosity, pragmatic problem solving and genuine ownership, with real autonomy to shape a product area central to the company's growth.
