About the role:
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the safe, productive and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility across multiple shifts. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the Production Planner, Shift Supervisors and Maintenance Supervisor. You will be responsible for delivering the approved production schedule, developing frontline leaders, coordinating production and maintenance priorities, and improving plant performance and reliability.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager and the Supply Chain, Quality and Moulding functions to ensure production priorities, material availability, technical requirements and customer commitments remain aligned.
In this role you will:
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to deliver production targets safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Own and manage the production schedule, ensuring resources, labour and materials are aligned to meet customer demand.
- Lead and develop Shift Supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate maintenance activities,
minimise downtime and drive improvements in equipment reliability and performance.
- Monitor operational performance, identifying and resolving production, capacity and delivery risks before they impact outcomes.
- Drive measurable improvements in OEE, productivity, waste reduction, labour efficiency and operating costs.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, GMP, food safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Maintenance and Technical teams to optimise production performance and business outcomes.
- Maintain accurate operational records and use data to support decision-making and performance improvements.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, efficiency and team capability.
About You:
- You're a confident and practical manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, solving problems and achieving results.
- To be successful, you'll bring:
- Proven leadership experience in a multi-shift manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong production planning, workforce management and operational scheduling skills.
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities and driving equipment reliability and performance improvements.
- Sound knowledge of WHS, GMP, food safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience using ERP and production reporting systems to monitor and improve performance.
- The ability to lead, coach and develop teams while driving accountability and results.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across operations, maintenance, quality and supply chain functions.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, efficiency and operational excellence.
A relevant qualification in engineering, manufacturing, operations management or a related discipline would be advantageous. Experience within plastics, packaging, injection moulding, food manufacturing or other regulated manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
