Urban Precision Pty Ltd, trading as Urban Precision, is a leading Sydney-based custom joinery manufacturer specialising in bespoke kitchens, built-in wardrobes, laundries, entertainment units, storage solutions, and commercial cabinetry. Operating from a dedicated production workshop in Caringbah, NSW, the company designs, manufactures, and installs high-end architectural joinery utilizing premium systems and materials such as Blum, Hettich, Caesarstone, Polytec, and Laminex. With a proven track record across residential and commercial sectors, Urban Precision is scaling its manufacturing capacity to support growing operational demand.

They are now seeking a full-time Production Engineer (Joinery Manufacturing) to join their workshop team in Caringbah, Sydney. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working alongside manufacturing leads, the role takes complete ownership of production planning, plant and machinery performance, and design-for-manufacture workflows. The position bridges design and workshop execution by converting client briefs into manufacturable joinery, programming CNC machinery, scheduling production flow, and maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary within the range of $83,000 to $93,000 AUD per annum, plus superannuation, benchmarked against market rates and commensurate with the technical expertise and accountability required for the role.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

- Planning and managing production capacity and workflow across design, machining, fabrication, assembly, and installation to balance labour, machinery, and material availability against client timelines.
- Analysing workshop layouts, operational data, and production costs to optimize equipment and labour efficiencies while implementing lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives (5S, Kanban, visual tracking, and nest optimization).
- Translating client and designer briefs into manufacturable joinery designs, producing 3D models, manufacturing drawings, cut lists, and component specifications using CAD/CAM software (Mozaik, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or Cabinet Vision).
- Specifying materials, hardware, fasteners, and construction methods for projects based on load requirements, durability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
- Programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC machinery (nesting, tooling, machine parameters)



and coordinating the introduction of recent equipment into workshop operations.
- Planning, directing, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery, tooling, and workshop assets to maximize plant uptime and efficiency.
- Evaluating capital expenditure (CAPEX) proposals for machinery, tooling, and facility upgrades based on ROI, capacity gains, and lifecycle costs.
- Preparing labour and material estimates, job quotes, and cost analyses, monitoring actual versus estimated production costs and project margins.
- Establishing and enforcing quality control, testing, and inspection standards for manufactured joinery in accordance with engineering principles and relevant Australian Standards.
- Managing Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance across the workshop, including machine guarding, PPE, hazard controls, fire systems, and statutory registrations.
- Managing inventory for raw materials, panel products, hardware, and consumables, coordinating procurement to support active production schedules.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD:

- Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Production, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (AQF Level 7 or above, or overseas equivalent).
- Have at least 2 years of post-qualification professional experience in a production, manufacturing, or plant engineering role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Demonstrated experience in timber, panel-based manufacturing, joinery, cabinetry, furniture, or interior fit-out environments is highly regarded.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD/CAM joinery design software (Mozaik, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, or equivalent), including parametric modeling and cut-list preparation.
- Working knowledge of CNC programming, nesting, machine parameters, and tooling for panel processing machinery.
- Strong understanding of workshop WHS obligations, hazard management, and relevant Australian Standards for joinery and cabinetry.
- Proven ability to conduct production cost analyses, CAPEX evaluations,



and prepare technical engineering reports.
- Hold a valid Australian driver licence.
- Must hold valid Australian work rights at the time of application.
