Opportunities for professional development and career progression. Variety of engineering and production projects. Task & responsibilities Plan, develop and implement production processes and procedures to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
Analyse existing production methods, workflows and processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to optimise the utilisation of plant, machinery, equipment, labour and materials. Design and develop production processes, systems and equipment to support manufacturing operations.
Prepare production specifications, procedures, technical documentation and engineering reports. Investigate production problems, delays, equipment issues and process inefficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions. Monitor production processes and performance to identify bottlenecks, wastage, quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement production schedules and workflow systems in consultation with management and production personnel. Establish and monitor production standards and quality control procedures. Analyse production data and operational information to identify trends and improve manufacturing performance.
Assist with the selection, installation, modification and commissioning of production equipment and machinery. Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure production machinery and equipment are operating efficiently and reliably. Develop and implement preventative maintenance and equipment improvement strategies where required.
Review production layouts and workflows and recommend improvements to optimise movement of materials, equipment and personnel. Assist in planning and implementing new manufacturing processes, machinery and production systems. Evaluate production costs, material usage, labour requirements and resource utilisation.
Identify opportunities to reduce production costs, material wastage and manufacturing downtime. Ensure production processes comply with relevant workplace health and safety, environmental and quality requirements. Work with production teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide technical advice and engineering support to management and production personnel. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders regarding production equipment, materials and technical requirements. Prepare reports and recommendations relating to production performance, process improvements and operational efficiency.
Qualification & experience A bachelor's degree or higher in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in production, manufacturing or process engineering. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong understanding of production planning, process optimisation and manufacturing principles. Ability to analyse production processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Experience working with production machinery, equipment and manufacturing systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation. Experience with CAD, production planning or engineering software will be highly regarded.
Strong understanding of quality control and workplace health and safety requirements. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production and management teams.
