Who is Haven Home Safe? Haven Home Safe (HHS) is a purpose-driven, for-purpose, community housing provider committed to ending housing insecurity and advancing housing justice across Victoria. We centre the voices and lived experience of the people we support, working alongside our clients to deliver services that are respectful, inclusive, and responsive. We deliver homelessness intake and referral services, integrated housing and support services encompassing Social and Affordable housing, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Transitional Housing Management (THM), and property services.

We have five (5) main office locations – Bendigo (registered Head Office), Preston, Epping, Mildura and Geelong.

Role Purpose The Program Coordinator provides leadership and operational oversight to the housing team. The role is accountable for fostering a supportive and professional team environment that promotes:

- Achievement of key performance indicators and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Individual and team accountability, with a focus on ongoing learning and development
- A robust commitment to continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

Team Management

- Lead and undertake day-to-day management of the tenancy team, including performance management, conflict resolution, support and professional development as required.
- Oversight of,



and adherence to, regional operating budget.
- Adhere to the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 as well as organisational policies and program guidelines.
- Support HHS’s continued achievement against Victorian Community Housing Registration requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

- Develop, maintain and document where required, positive relationships with government, relevant services and organisations.
- Engage respectfully and professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with other agency staff as appropriate.
- In consultation with the Chief Housing Officer, liaise with government and non-government community sector agencies, promoting HHS programs and services.

Essential:

- Experience working in the community service sector and/or private real estate in tenancy and property management
- Well-developed negotiation and conflict management skills
- Ability to work within various requirements including program, legislative and budgetary constraints
- An understanding and empathy of the structural constructs of poverty and homelessness
- Ability to work under limited direction
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to lead a team of Tenancy and Property Managers

Desirable:

- Current Real Estate Agents certificate

Safety Screening Requirements





- Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- National Police Check.
- Working with Children Check.

Travel Requirements This position requires occasional travel.

This role involves direct client and community-based work, including outreach and lone working in unfamiliar environments. Employees may support individuals experiencing trauma, mental health issues, family violence, or significant psychosocial stressors, and may be exposed to emotionally challenging situations and, on occasion, distressed, agitated, aggressive, or violent behaviours. The role requires emotional resilience, sound judgement, and the consistent application of trauma informed and self-care practices.

The organisation actively manages psychosocial and safety risks through risk assessment and planning, supervision, workload monitoring, safety protocols, check in procedures, training, managerial support, and access to employee wellbeing supports.
