Project Manager-GENACT – Recent project

This is an exciting new role for a motivated and experienced project manager within the Health and Medical Research sector to lead the delivery of GENACT:

GENomics-driven Accelerated Clinical Trials across Australian Cancer Clinical Trials Groups (ACCTG)

Who we are and why you might love to work with us:

ACCTG is a national collaborative initiative involving 14 Australian Cancer Clinical Trials Groups that aims to develop shared methodologies, frameworks, data standards and practical tools to support the integration of genomics into cancer clinical trial design and protocol development.

The position:

The Project Manager will lead the delivery of the GENACT project, meeting its objective on time, within budget and in accordance with grant obligations. They will also be responsible for:

· Overall project leadership,

· Governance and committee management,

· National stakeholder engagement,

· Horizon Scan and National Assessment Coordination

· Framework and Toolkit Development

· Data, Reporting and Performance Monitoring

· Communications and Knowledge Translation

· Risk, Compliance and Quality Management

Key deliverables:

· Phase 1: Governance and Project Establishment (2026)

· Phase 2: National Genomics Landscape Assessment (2026-2027)

· Phase 3: Frameworks and Tools (2027)

· Phase 4: National Framework (2027–2028)

Skills and experience you will bring to the role:

· Tertiary qualifications in health, clinical research, public health, biomedical science, project management or related field.

· Demonstrated experience managing complex multi-stakeholder projects.





· Experience working within clinical research, clinical trials, oncology, genomics or related healthcare sectors.

· Proven ability to coordinate national or multi-organisational initiatives.

· Experience establishing governance frameworks and supporting committees.

· Experience developing project plans, budgets, risk registers and performance reporting systems.

· Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships, influence without direct authority and work effectively across complex, multi-organizational environments.

· Excellent organisational and project management skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to synthesise complex information and deliver practical outcomes.

· Strong facilitation and workshop coordination skills.

· Understanding of research governance, ethics and privacy requirements.

· High level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and project

· management tools.

Skills and experience that would be valuable for the role as well:

· Experience working with Cancer Clinical Trials Groups.

· Knowledge of genomics, precision oncology or translational research.

· Experience engaging consumers and priority populations.

· Knowledge of Indigenous Data Sovereignty principles.

· Experience with data governance, metadata standards or health data infrastructure projects.

· Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent).
