About the role
1414 Degrees owns the Aurora Energy Project, located near Port Augusta, South Australia. This site is being developed as renewable energy precinct utilising a combination of renewable energy technologies, particularly a battery and PV solar as the first Stage. You will take ownership of the end-to-end project management for the planned first stage battery and PV power project.
This is a broad role, incorporating technical, commercial and project management elements. You will be willing and able to be hands-on with daily operational functions on and off-site while maintaining focus on the more strategic aspects. The role is based in Adelaide, but significant site travel may be required.
Key responsibilities
- Manage delivery of government and grid connection approvals
- Manage engineering, procurement and construction
- Control contracts, schedule, budgets and resources required for the delivery of project
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Group on project progress, forecasting of required funds, and all risks and mitigation proposals highlighted, to help ensure delivery of the project within schedule and budget
About you
- Experienced project manager with tertiary qualifications in engineering or other relevant field
- Solid experience in similar renewable energy development roles
- Demonstrable skills in the development of renewable energy generation projects, particularly battery energy storage systems and PV solar
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills and an ability to engage with consultants, contractors and stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent project management skills, including ability to efficiently track issues throughout the life of the project and relay pertinent issues to stakeholders
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in managing complex project delivery
- Experience in managing approvals and agreements with Government and other relevant authorities
- Experience with electricity network connection and approvals processes
- Excellent contract knowledge and ability to manage contractors adhere to obligations under various contracts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to build relationships and working with third party engineering firms, EPCs, local representatives (country, landowner, governmental agencies, etc).
- Excellent commercial experience.
- Demonstrated organisational, strategic, planning and delivery capability.
- Can do attitude.
- Ability to operate strategically and under pressure.
