Primary objective

This position provides high-level administration and project support to the Emergency Recovery and Security Coordination team to deliver key bodies of work related to the Northern Territory’s (NT) approach to countering violent extremism (CVE) and meet requirements under national funding agreements.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Provide high-quality secretariat and administrative support, including coordinating meetings and taking minutes, preparing correspondence, records and information management, and organising travel arrangements.
- Support delivery of projects across the NT’s CVE arrangements through conducting research activities,



project management,

monitoring and reporting, and other duties as directed.

- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to support collaboration and the implementation of approved projects, initiatives and work priorities.
- Assist in the preparation of written correspondence, advice, briefs and reports and ensure accurate and timely responses to executive and ministerial requests.
- Support the department’s responsibilities under the National Support and Intervention Program, including initiatives that increase CVE capability and awareness across NT Government.

Selection criteria

Essential

- Strong organisational skills, including ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain discretion when it comes to sensitive or confidential information.
- Demonstrated experience in providing secretariat and administrative support services.
- Experience with project management activities, such as research, monitoring, and reporting, or the ability to acquire such skills quickly.
- High-level oral and written communication skills with experience in the preparation of briefings, reports, and other correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, work independently, and to collaborate within a agile team to achieve objectives.

Desirable

- Post-secondary qualification in a relevant discipline.

Further information The occupant of this position may need to hold or be able to obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance, Negative Vetting level 1.
