Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality psychological assessment, intervention, and therapeutic support to individuals accessing services through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The Psychologist will work collaboratively with participants, their families, and support teams to enhance functional capacity, promote mental well-being, and support meaningful participation in everyday life. This role is pivotal in enabling individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life through person-centred, evidence-based psychological services.

The psychologist will also contribute to the development of tailored NDIS reports and support plans, ensuring services align with the participant’s NDIS goals and the NDIS Practice Standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using standardised tools to determine cognitive, behavioural, emotional, and functional capacity.

· Diagnose psychological conditions in line with DSM-5 criteria where appropriate and relevant to NDIS planning and support of the participants.

· Develop and deliver evidence-based, person-centred therapeutic interventions tailored to individual participant’s unique goals, strengths, and support needs.

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to co-facilitate programs when appropriate and to ensure consistency of messaging across services.

· Support capacity building within the participant's support network by providing practical strategies and insights that can be implemented outside the group setting.

· Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with professional and legal standards.

· Prepare high-quality psychological reports, functional assessments, and behaviour support plans in alignment with NDIS requirements and guidelines.

· Contribute to the development of service plans by integrating clinical findings with participant goals, support needs,



and NDIS outcomes.

· Provide transparent, accurate, and timely reports to the NDIS, allied health professionals, and support coordinators on participant’s progress, and development.

· Actively engage in team meetings, inter-agency coordination and stakeholder engagements to foster collaboration and alignment of organisational goals.

Skills and Specifications

· An accredited degree in Psychology typically a 4-year study along with postgraduate training such as a Master’s or Doctorate.

· Must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) under the Psychology Board of Australia.

· Demonstrated experience in delivering psychological assessments, interventions, and therapeutic services—preferably within disability, mental health, or NDIS settings.

· Engage in ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities to maintain AHPRA registration and stay up to date with current evidence-based practices.

· Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check and a valid driver’s licence.

Pay: $130.00 – $150.00 per hour
