About the role

We are seeking a Qualified Baker/Pastry Chef to join the team at Bake My Life. This is a casual position based in Ballina, NSW.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and baking a variety of bread, cakes, pastries and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards
- Creating specialty pastries and decorative baked items, ensuring presentation meets company standards
- Operating and maintaining baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and proofing chambers
- Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality and food safety
- Preparing ingredients, including measuring, mixing and preparing doughs and batters
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the baking area and kitchen
- Working collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production targets
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and best practices

What we're looking for

- Formal qualification in baking and/or pastry chef training from a recognised culinary institution or equivalent hands-on experience
- Proven experience working in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality in all baked products
- Valuable physical stamina, as the role involves standing for extended periods and lifting ingredients




- Reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work casual hours as required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Experience with specialty items such as artisan breads, croissants or wedding cakes is preferred
