Quality Clinical Governance Manager
Are you an experienced, passionate, and innovation focused aged care leader who is looking to specialise in the quality, compliance & clinical governance space?
If so, we currently have an amazing opportunity for you as a Quality & Clinical Manager to play a critical role in maintaining provider registration, supporting re-registration readiness, and embedding a rights-based, risk-proportionate quality system to join our Governance and Risk team at a national level.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Governance and Risk, you will be a key member of the team responsible for operational oversight and strategic influence to deliver best practice outcomes for Residents and the organisation. This critical role will participate in the coordination and planning of activities to support Aeralife and clinical safety compliance requirements.
There is requirement to regularly visit Aeralife NSW and VIC Homes.
What you will be responsible for:
- Provide strategic leadership in strengthening the organisation’s clinical governance framework, ensuring it remains contemporary, evidence-informed and aligned with regulatory expectations and best practice.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality and accountability by embedding governance principles that promote rights-based, person-centred care across all services.
- Support organisational readiness for provider re-registration, renewal and variations through forward-looking planning, risk anticipation and constructive engagement with regulators.
- Oversee the governance of reportable incidents at a systems level, ensuring insights, trends and emerging risks inform strategic decision-making and learning.
- Partner with senior and operational leaders to ensure quality, safety and consumer outcomes are clearly demonstrated, measurable and used to guide service improvement and investment.
- Strengthen organisational capability in incident prevention, risk mitigation and continuous improvement through collaborative leadership and system-level interventions.
- Provide strategic oversight of quality assurance activities, ensuring audit and monitoring programs generate meaningful insights that drive improvement and sustained risk reduction.
- Translate quality,
safety and risk data into strategic intelligence that informs organisational priorities, governance reporting and executive decision-making.
- Champion a proactive, learning-oriented governance culture that supports leaders and clinicians to consistently apply frameworks, uphold standards and deliver high-quality care.

What you need to be able to demonstrate:
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with at least 5 years' experience or a similar role in Aged Care or similar discipline
- Broad knowledge of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) and, Aged Care Industry, Aged Care Act and Quality Standards.
- Proven involvement in regulatory assessments, audits, monitoring visits,
and responses with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and/or NDIS Commission.
- Eligibility to meet suitability and probity requirements, including a current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Demonstrated capability to provide clinical and quality governance oversight across multiple residential aged care settings.
- Experience in the design, implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of clinical and quality systems, including electronic care management systems.
- Strong capability in clinical data governance, including data quality, integrity, trend analysis, escalation of risk, and regulatory and executive reporting.
- Advanced skills in incident investigation, complaints management, and systemic risk mitigation, using data to drive improvement.
- Experience in policy, process and system development aligned to contemporary best practice and legislation.
- Excellent computer literacy and competency in electronic care systems
- Available and Flexible to travel and work at various Aeralife sites throughout NSW and VIC , as required. Specifically, in consultation with the Quality team develop plan of weekly movements locating self at various Aeralife sites during working days.
