Arceye Engineering is seeking an experienced Quarry Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s Maintenance Team at Point Wilson, VIC.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, installation and overhaul of fixed and mobile plant within a busy quarry environment.

The Quarry Maintenance Department operates as one integrated Maintenance Team, and all employees are expected to assist across a range of maintenance activities within the limits of their qualifications, licences, training and demonstrated competency.

Mechanical Fitters with fabrication and welding experience are encouraged to apply.

About the Role:

- Preventative, planned and reactive maintenance on fixed and mobile plant

- Breakdown response and fault finding

- Maintenance and repairs of crushers, including jaw and cone crushers

- Maintenance of vibrating screens and screen media

- Conveyor and conveyor system maintenance

- Changing conveyor rollers, idlers and belt components

- Bearing inspection, replacement and alignment

- Conveyor pulley and drum maintenance

- Gearbox removal, overhaul and replacement

- Electric motor removal, installation and replacement

- Shaft, coupling and drive system maintenance

- Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance

- Chute, bin and hopper repairs

- Wear liner and chute liner replacement

- Structural steel repairs and plant modifications

- Welding, fabrication and general plant repairs





- Feeder and transfer station maintenance

- General plant inspections and housekeeping

- Shutdown and major maintenance activities

- Cleaning of plant, chutes, workshops and maintenance areas

- Manual handling and lifting tasks as required

- Reporting hazards and maintenance issues

- Following SWMS, permits and site safety procedures

About the Person:

- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner or equivalent

- Previous quarry, mining, heavy industrial or fixed plant maintenance experience highly regarded

- Solid mechanical maintenance skills

- Welding and fabrication experience advantageous

- Experience with conveyors, crushers and vibrating screens highly regarded

- Ability to undertake preventative and reactive maintenance

- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

- High safety focus

- Hard working, reliable and trustworthy

- Able to work independently and as part of a team

- Physically capable of working in a demanding quarry environment

- Willing to assist across a range of maintenance activities

The Role:

- 4 ON / 4 OFF rotating night shift roster 7.30pm to 5:00am

- 9-hour shifts - $48 – $56 p/h super

- Overtime expected

- PPE supplied
