About the role
We're looking for two rangers to manage the special parks and reserves across the Central Highlands area. The primary focus of these positions is to deliver park services together with the Ranger Team Leader and Rangers. These positions would be working for separate teams based out of the Creswick workcentre. The primary focus on one of the positions is to plan and deliver a variety of services based around conservation, visitor infrastructure, assets and stakeholder and community engagement.
The other role will be primarily focused on on ground delivery of park services, environmental work, infrastructure installation and maintenance. As part of a small, committed team you'll be helping to manage an area that contains campgrounds and an extensive network of day visitor areas, walking tracks, roads and 4WD tracks. You'll also be involved in pest plant and animal management, native vegetation management, Traditional Owner engagement, fire and emergency management, visitor engagement, and compliance activities.

We're looking for someone with:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in natural resource management, a passion and interest in the natural environment.
- The ability to operate comfortably and safely as part of a team and independently and use practical skills to solve problems and maintain assets.
- Great self-motivation, ability to communicate well, and who genuinely enjoys engaging with community and park visitors.
- Demonstrated practical skills in the maintenance and operation of machinery, small equipment and tools.
- Demonstrated skills or trade related skills in the maintenance and construction of a range of park facilities, including, signs, campgrounds, fences and walking tracks.
