To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a Team Leader Building & Facilities to coordinate the management, maintenance, marketing and activation of buildings, multi-use community facilities and amenities.

This role will provide you the opportunity to:

- Provide leadership to the Building and Facilities team to ensure the successful delivery of services, a strong safety and values-led culture, and in the delivery of department goals and outcomes.
- Develop and implement consistent policies and procedures across all community facilities including fees and charges, facility provision and assessment of supply and demand, facility service levels, and facility support on State Government or Crown land.
- Supervise the delivery and implementation of proactive and reactive asset maintenance and Essential Safety Measures compliance for all of Council’s Buildings and Community Facilities.
- Supervise Council contracts, contractor works and trade panels for the management and maintenance of buildings including for building cleaning services, public toilet & BBQ cleaning and Council's electricity usage.
- Lead the planning, budgeting and reporting for buildings and community facilities through evidence-based research, including facility utilisation, community feedback, cost and condition data.
- Work collaboratively with others to utilise community facilities and ensure spaces are activated effectively using a risk assessment framework to the suitability of services or groups wanting to use the spaces.
- Prepare management, licence, and hire agreements and advice and support to community-based tenants to maximise the utilisation of Community managed facilities and provide value to the community.
- Keep children and community members safe in Council facilities and ensure that risk is assessed and any risk is minimalised/mitigated including the overview of any contractors/volunteers involved.

Our ideal candidate will have:





- Understanding and knowledge of community development and engagement practices and the role of local government in providing a range of community facilities for diverse communities.
- Demonstrated experience in the management, maintenance and governance of multi-use facilities including implementing strategies, policies and processes to increase and improve utilisation and accessibility.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish robust links with key stakeholders, oversee contractors and provide support for user groups/tenants.
- Experience in the application of quality assurance principles and the analysis of information and data to measure and evaluate outcomes.
- Well-developed writing and presentation skills including the ability to prepare and present reports and document agreements, policies and public correspondence.
- Practical experience in financial management, procurement processes, risk management, health and safety requirements.
- Ability to lead a small team, develop a positive working environment that aligns with organisational values, and successfully deliver department goals.
