About Our Client
Our client is a global leader in the oil and gas industry, providing independent storage of petroleum, hazardous fuels and oils. Due to continued growth and expansion of their terminal in Sydney, they are looking to hire a Project engineer to work across major CAPEX projects on an initial 12 month fixed term contract, with a view to transitioning to a permanent role.
Job Description
- Engineering & Solutions Design: Lead process design, establish feasibility testing, and conduct crucial field inspections
- Project & Contract Management: Execute deliverables against the project management plan
- Project Controls & Budgeting: Track commitments and actual costs against budget
- HSSE Leadership: Enforce strict adherence to Permit to Work systems and Job Safety Analyses
- Quality & Commissioning: Ensure zero critical technical punches or system failures
The Successful Applicant
A successful Project Engineer should have:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Civil/Structural)
- Industrial Experience:
Project engineering experience within heavy industrial facilities (e.g., bulk liquid storage terminals, oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing).
- CAPEX Track Record: Proven experience executing capital asset projects
- Asset Expertise: Strong technical familiarity with industrial assets, including API storage tanks, piping networks, pumps, rotating equipment, and/or utility systems.
- Technical Skills: Complete competence in project schedule management, costing/budgeting, and interpreting HSE compliance systems.
- Soft Skills: Robust negotiation skills, a knack for managing complex information, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
What's on Offer
- Base salary between $140,000 and $160,000 AUD plus super.
- Fixed-term contract offering stability and focus on key projects, with a view to transition to a permanent position post initial FTC.
