Wombat Ward is a 16-bed Level 3 paediatric inpatient unit caring for patients aged 0-17 years across:

- General Paediatrics
- Surgery
- Orthopaedics
- Mental Health

Working alongside experienced nurses, medical staff and allied health professionals, you’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and their families.

What You’ll Do

- Deliver high-quality, family-centred paediatric nursing care.
- Support children and families throughout their healthcare journey.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Maintain clinical documentation and patient records.
- Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
- Support and mentor students and junior staff.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a compassionate and capable Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering safe, high-quality care to children, young people and their families.

You will have:

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Current knowledge of nursing principles, procedures and practices, and the ability to apply them in line with relevant legislation and the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safe, patient-centred care.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Flexibility to work across a fully rotational roster and support service delivery as required.
- Working with Children Check/Registration
- Postgraduate qualifications in Paediatric Nursing.

Multiple permanent full-time and part-time positions available.

Shift worker (fully rotational), commencing as soon as possible.





Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‑time, part‑time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (pro rata), plus 12% employer superannuation.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range ($99,455 to $105,995) is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the following essential requirements:

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
