About the Role
Key leadership position
The Clinical Director Adult Bed Based Mental Health provides clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective clinical services that meet relevant organisational, regulatory and accreditation standards.
Working in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders, the role fosters strong internal and external collaborations. This includes other parts of the Mental Health and Addiction Medicine program as well as the SVHM Emergency Department and Inpatient wards.
- In partnership with the Operational Manager, lead the implementation of clinical program strategies, operational plans and service improvement initiatives across the Adult Inpatient programs
- Lead relevant committees and working groups within the Mental Health program and ensure alignment with broader governance structures
- Provide clinical supervision and line management for the Senior Medical Staff across the program in the AIS, CCU, PARC and the Consultation Liaison Service
Your Contribution
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (all disciplines except Social Work).
- RPNs - Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Relevant postgraduate qualification in mental health.
- Occupational Therapists - Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Psychologists - Registration as a psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009).
Practice endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist under AHPRA.
- Social Workers - An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

St. Vincent’s Mental Health (SVMH) provides high-quality, recovery-oriented services for adults and older adults in the Cities of Yarra and Boroondara and parts of Darebin. The service utilises a strengths model of recovery, embedded across all parts of the mental health service.
The adult mental health bed-based service components are the Acute Inpatient Service (AIS) which provides five statewide Koori Mental Health beds, Footbridge Community Care Units (CCU), North Fitzroy Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) and the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry service.
