About our client

Our client is a global alternative investment firm. The firm invests capital on behalf of institutional investors, focusing on asset classes tied to structural economic shifts, defensive yield characteristics, and long-term utility. Core investment sectors include critical infrastructure, energy transition, renewables, logistics, healthcare and digital infrastructure.

The role

Our client is seeking a versatile senior lawyer to join its Asia-Pacific legal team in Sydney. The successful candidate will provide legal support across infrastructure, real assets, and private credit strategies. Key responsibilities include:

- Lead legal due diligence, structure complex investments, and draft/negotiate core documentation, including credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, security packages, loan modifications, and traditional M&A; share purchase agreements.
- Advise on private credit origination, asset-backed lending, project finance, and debt restructuring for portfolio companies and third-party borrowers.
- Provide ongoing legal and commercial support for existing portfolio investments, overseeing corporate governance, credit compliance, amendments, waivers, and bolt-on financing arrangements.
- Collaborate with compliance and fund formation colleagues on credit fund regulatory matters, co-investment vehicles, and borrower/lender compliance frameworks.

This role will be offered as a Director, Legal or Vice-President,



Legal position depending on the experience of the successful candidate.

About you

- 8–12 years of post-qualification experience gained within a top-tier private practice law firm (likely focusing on Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, or Corporate/M&A;) or an in-house role within private credit, private equity, or alternative asset management.
- Deep fluency in credit documentation, negotiation dynamics, and multi-party debtor-creditor relationships alongside strong corporate M&A; fundamentals.
- Ability to balance complex credit risk with commercial business objectives while operating autonomously in a fast-paced transactional workplace.
- Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia or New Zealand with strong academic and professional credentials.
