This is a genuine consulting career, with training, development and mentorship.

You'll spend a significant proportion of your time in the field in your first two years, solidifying your understanding of geology and site conceptualisation, while building a technical career alongside 45 specialists at the forefront of groundwater consulting.

You'll work directly with James Barratt, WA Region Manager who will also be your Team Leader, plus a close knit team who'll teach and mentor you. What matters most is that you're curious, field ready and eager to commit to a career in groundwater management.

You'll be involved in the whole cycle - sampling groundwater or supervising a drilling program one week, then back at your desk analysing that same data the next, turning your field readings into real technical understanding. You'll be part of projects ranging from mines and quarries to major infrastructure and renewable energy developments. You'll work on real groundwater challenges that can include water supply, mine dewatering, groundwater dependent ecosystems, impact assessment and environmental management. Each site will test a different set of skills, with each dataset adding to your understanding of how groundwater actually behaves, not just how it's described in a textbook. This is where your learning compounds.

Within the first one to two years, alongside your Team Leader, you'll see where your curiosity and strengths line up, and that's where your technical pathway begins to take shape. AGE's national team spans field management expertise, conceptualisation, GIS, data science, numerical modelling and geochemistry, and this knowledge and expertise is shared, accessible and developed across the entire team.

To be considered, you'll need -

- Bachelor's degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science or a related discipline
- Some exposure to groundwater or hydrogeology that has sparked your interest
- Genuine, practical eagerness to get into the field, including remote and physically demanding conditions
- To be based in Perth.

We'll also consider people elsewhere in Australia who have a genuine, independent commitment to permanently relocating to WA
- An Australian Driver's Licence (Class C)
- Australian permanent residency
