About the role

MST Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking an Apprentice Painter to join our growing team. This is a full-time apprenticeship position offering an exceptional opportunity to develop your skills in the painting and decorating industry under the guidance of experienced professionals. As an apprentice, you will work on a variety of projects, learning the practical and theoretical aspects of painting and surface preparation whilst contributing to the successful completion of our construction and maintenance projects. This role is pivotal in developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople within our organisation.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and priming walls, ceilings, timber and other materials

- Applying paint, stains and protective coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment

- Mixing paint colours and ensuring consistency with project specifications

- Using hand tools and equipment safely and effectively, including ladders, scaffolding and access equipment

- Protecting surrounding areas and structures from paint splatter and damage during application

- Following health and safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organised work site

- Learning to read and interpret building plans, specifications and technical drawings

- Working collaboratively with senior painters, construction teams and site supervisors

- Assisting with the maintenance and care of painting equipment and tools

- Completing on-the-job training whilst undertaking structured apprenticeship coursework

What we're looking for

- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in the painting and decorating trade

- Year 10 or equivalent educational qualification

- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

- Robust attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship

- Reliability,



punctuality and a positive attitude towards learning

- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in accordance with health and safety regulations

- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

- A current or valid driver's license is preferred

- No prior painting experience is required—we value enthusiasm and willingness to learn
