About the role

Great Energy WA Pty Ltd is seeking a Powergen Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team on a full-time, FIFO (Fly-In/Fly-Out) basis working an 8/6 roster in the Goldfields. This is a critical position within our operations, where you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of custom containerised, diesel-powered generators. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring our power generation assets operate at peak efficiency and reliability, directly contributing to the success of our energy operations.

Key responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and servicing on diesel generators and associated power generation equipment

- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and defects in diesel engines and related systems

- Conduct inspections of generators to identify potential issues before they escalate

- Liaise with client teams as the sole representative on site

- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all maintenance and repair work completed

- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems integrated with diesel generation equipment

- Support adjacent power stations on same site.

- Comply with all safety protocols and workplace health and safety requirements on site

- Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to ensure operational continuity

- Participate in on-call support and emergency repair situations as required

What we're looking for

- Current diesel mechanic (LV or Truck) qualifications or equivalent industry certification

- Proven experience working with diesel generators is desirable

- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems and electrical components

- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools specific to diesel engine servicing

- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel via FIFO arrangements (8 days on, 6 days off)

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate service records





- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote or isolated locations

- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and practices

- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual work in diverse environmental conditions

- Reliability and professional attitude with a strong safety-first mindset

- Previous experience with safe systems of work is desirable
