About the role

OOM Energy Group operates multiple fuel stations and roadhouses across Queensland. We are seeking experienced professionals for three key positions: Retail Store Manager, Chef/Cook, and Restaurant Manager. These roles are based at various locations including South Port, Cairns Central, Clermount, Dysart, Peak Downs, Blackwater, Emerald, Captains Mountain, Moranbah, Wulguru, Drighton, Gladstone, Roma, Coopers Plains, and Longreach.

Key responsibilities

Retail Store Manager:

- Drive sales growth, achieve sales targets and meet other Key Performance Indicators

- Inspire and motivate team members and lead by example

- Recruit and train staff new team members

- Work closely with HR for any workplace management requirements

- Ensure the store complies with all OHS/HSSE requirements

- Facilitate efficient and successful operations of all aspects of the store; including stock control and ordering, managing costs of goods, and completing daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting

- Resolve day-to-day inefficiencies and other issues in relation to customer service

- Work closely with the Operations Manager to achieve store budgets through planned, efficient rostering and other cost control methods

- Maintain robust commitment to food safety standards in line with food safety plan

Chef/Cook:

- Adhere to standards, portion control, and presentation styles for all dishes

- Collaborate with managers and team members to address issues and ensure proper preparation and presentation of dishes

- Oversee food rotation, hygiene practices, and occupational health and safety protocols





- Plan menus and ensure proficiency in menu planning

- Minimize food wastage and manage labour costs effectively

- Work with management to establish daily and weekly production targets

- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to control food costs

- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality

- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff

- Ensure all kitchen-prepared food meets the highest standards of quality

Restaurant Manager:

- Work with the chef and other kitchen staff to determine the contents and pricing of the menu, considering customer demand and seasonal trends

- Monitor and ensure monthly compliance with budgetary requirements and goals

- Develop and implement sales and marketing activities to increase revenue and market share

- Manage inventory and ordering stock as required to ensure it is fresh and of high quality

- Ensure the dining area of the restaurant is presented to a high standard for the ultimate customer experience

- Ensure company policies and procedures regarding occupational health and safety requirements are always upheld and embedded in the work culture

- Recruit, roster, train, and manage termination of staff, including conducting interviews,



performance reviews, and staff development sessions

- Develop and implement customer service policies to be applied across the restaurant by all staff

- Provide recommendations at company meetings regarding how to improve customer satisfaction based upon customer feedback received

About you

Retail Store Manager:

- Minimum 1 year of Retail industry experience in a Manager capacity

- Qualification: Diploma or similar

- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products

Chef/Cook:

- Minimum 1 years of experience in a similar role

- Certification in Commercial Cookery (Cert III or IV), Diploma

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately

- Excellent time management skills

- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

- Knowledge of continental cooking

- Demonstrate strong organizational abilities

Restaurant Manager:

- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager

- Minimum of 3 years of experience

- Qualification: Diploma in Hospitality or similar
