About the role

Porcellino is seeking an experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in Sydney NSW 2000. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and passion for creating exceptional dishes. As Chef, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards of food quality, creativity, and presentation, whilst contributing to the overall success and reputation of our establishment.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and cooking food for daily service

- Organising food preparation and kitchen duties

- Maintaining a high standard of food quality and presentation

- Assisting with menu planning and developing new dishes

- Managing stock levels and ordering kitchen supplies

- Monitoring food costs and minimising wastage

- Coordinating kitchen staff and allocating daily tasks

- Preparing food for catering and private functions

- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen

- Adhering to all food safety, health, and hygiene protocols and standards

- Training and supporting kitchen staff when required

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Chef in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality establishment

- Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary best practices

- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene protocols, and relevant health regulations

- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure during service

- Leadership and team management capabilities, with experience supervising and training kitchen staff

- Creativity and passion for developing innovative dishes and menus

- Ability to maintain high standards of quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation





- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (such as skilled chef training or hospitality qualifications) are advantageous

- Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods whilst working in a fast-paced kitchen
