Adela Support is seeking a experienced & compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Female Support Worker to join our dynamic team, with a casual position.

Applicants should be hardworking, reliable, have an easy going personality, someone who enjoys a chat and will actively engage with clients. We are seeking someone who has a positive attitude, is a team player that understands duty of care & the ability to do regular hours throught both our day options centre and in the community as required on a casual basis. We are only seeking people with reasonable availability (min 3days per week Monday, Wednesday & Friday daytime hours) Please highlight your specific availability in your cover letter.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Support: Assist participants in implementing their plans to achieve personal goals and improve outcomes. This may be in a community based setting or in our day options centre in a ratio based setting.

Personal Care: Provide support with activities of daily living, including household tasks, personal care (showering, dressing, feeding), and healthcare needs.

Life Skills Coaching: Encourage the development of personal skills through hobbies, interests, and life skills training (e.g., shopping, using public transport, managing finances).

Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.

Emotional Support: Offer emotional support to participants and their families, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.

Essential Skills:

Communication: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Compassion: A caring and empathetic approach to participant care.

Effective Communication: Skilled in active listening and clear, direct communication,



ensuring effective service delivery and understanding diverse perspectives.

Team Collaboration: Able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver optimal participant support and meet evolving needs.

Problem-Solving: Capable of developing and implementing practical solutions to complex concerns and challenges faced by participants.

Action-Oriented: Ability to translate ideas into actionable plans, ensuring the successful implementation of strategies.

Self-Reflection and Development: Committed to personal growth, actively seeking feedback, and continually improving professional skills.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum: Certificate III or IV in Disability or Age Care (or equivalent qualifications).

Qualification Requirement: Certificate III or IV in Disability or Age Care must be held before applying for this position.

Experience: Previous experience in the disability or aged care sector is preferred.

Experience Requirement: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in disability or aged care is required for this position.

Clearances: Current Working with Children Clearance and Police Check/Criminal History Check.

Clearance Currency: Working with Children Clearance and Police Check must be obtained or renewed within the last 12 months.

Drivers licence: Current drivers licence with reliable car + Comprehensive insurance is a must for this role

Work Authorisation: Australian work authorisation is legally required for this position.
