We are seeking an exceptional, fully qualified teacher to provide ongoing academic tutoring for two students — one entering Year 11 and one entering Year 9 in 2027. Immediate start.

This is a role for a teacher who is outstanding at teaching, not simply someone who is knowledgeable in the subject.

We are prepared to pay up to $150 per hour for face-to-face tutoring for the right person. The priority is finding a teacher with exceptional teaching ability who can genuinely engage students, identify gaps in understanding and bring out their academic potential.

We are looking for someone who can become a trusted, long-term academic mentor to both students.

Year 11 student

Tutoring is required in:

- English

- VCE Mathematical Methods

- VCE Business Management

- Economics

The successful teacher/s will ideally have substantial experience teaching senior secondary students and a strong understanding of the Victorian VCE curriculum.

Responsibilities will include:

- Teaching concepts clearly and thoroughly

- Identifying and addressing gaps in knowledge

- Developing strong analytical, problem-solving and written skills

- Preparing for SACs, examinations and assessments

- Teaching effective exam techniques

- Providing constructive and specific feedback

- Building confidence while maintaining high academic expectations

- Developing an individual learning strategy based on the student’s strengths and areas for improvement

- Helping the student become more independent and effective in their study

Year 9 student

Tutoring is required in:

- English

- Mathematics

The focus will be on strengthening core skills, developing confidence and ensuring a strong academic foundation for senior secondary studies.

The person we are looking for

You must be a qualified teacher.

We are particularly interested in teachers who:

- Hold appropriate teaching qualifications





- Have substantial secondary teaching experience

- Have strong experience teaching VCE Mathematical Methods, English or Business Management (noting we may have multiple teachers to fill the position/s)

- Have an excellent understanding of the Victorian curriculum and VCE requirements

- Are exceptional communicators and explain difficult concepts in a way students genuinely understand

- Can adapt their teaching style to the individual student

- Are engaging, patient and encouraging while maintaining high standards

- Can challenge capable students and push them beyond their comfort zone

- Are highly organised and proactive

- Take genuine ownership of student progress

Most importantly, we are looking for an exceptional teacher — someone who knows how to teach, not simply someone who knows the content.

Location & commitment

- Glen Iris: At least one face-to-face session per week

- Additional tutoring can be conducted online if preferred

- We are looking for an ongoing relationship rather than short-term exam preparation

- Sessions can potentially be arranged around the teacher’s existing commitments

Remuneration

Up to $150 per hour for face-to-face tutoring, depending on qualifications, experience and demonstrated teaching ability.

We are willing to pay a premium for the right teacher. Quality of teaching is considerably more significant to us than finding the lowest hourly rate.
