Family Doctor

Hawthorn East

Family Doctor is one of Australia’s largest doctor-owned primary healthcare groups, with 110 medical centres. We are seeking an experienced operations leader to take ownership of our Occupational Health service and turn our national clinical footprint into a coordinated, scalable and commercially successful offering for employers.

This is not a maintenance role, and it is not a purely administrative or account-management position. You will have the mandate to establish the operating model, activate practices, improve existing services, onboard corporate clients and build the systems required to support substantial national growth.

The opportunity:

Family Doctor already provides Occupational Health services across parts of its national group. The opportunity now is to bring these capabilities together, eliminate fragmented processes and create a consistent national service covering areas such as:

- Pre-employment medical assessments
- Drug and alcohol screening
- Workplace vaccinations
- Health surveillance
- Fitness-for-work and injury-related assessments
- Employer-funded medical services
- Other occupational and workplace health programs

Reporting directly to the Executive Team and working across operations, clinical teams, business development, finance and technology, you will be accountable for both operational delivery and measurable growth.

What you will do

- Take operational ownership of Occupational Health across the Family Doctor group
- Assess existing services, clients, workflows, pricing, capacity and clinical capability
- Develop and implement a consistent national operating model
- Identify and activate suitable practices across our group
- Build efficient end-to-end workflows covering bookings, clinical delivery, reporting, invoicing and follow-up
- Lead the operational onboarding of new employer and corporate clients

- Coordinate multi-site and national client implementations
- Improve appointment access, turnaround times, service reliability and client experience
- Monitor revenue, margins, billing integrity and service profitability
- Identify missed charges, inefficient processes and opportunities to expand existing accounts
- Establish service standards, performance dashboards and clear accountability
- Work with our internal technology team to automate booking, forms, workflow, reporting and administration
- Ensure privacy, consent, clinical governance and employer-reporting requirements are properly embedded

Your success will be visible and measurable. It will include:
- More Family Doctor practices actively delivering Occupational Health services
- Increased appointment capacity and geographic coverage
- Growth in completed assessments, employer clients and revenue
- Faster, more reliable client implementation
- Consistent service delivery across participating practices
- Improved turnaround times and client retention
- Stronger billing integrity and commercial performance
- Less manual administration through better systems and automation

About you:

- You are an operator who can move between strategy and execution. You can diagnose an inefficient process, design a better model and then work with dispersed teams to make it function in practice.
- Strong operational leadership experience in healthcare, occupational health, multi-site services

- Demonstrated success designing, standardising and scaling operations across multiple locations
- Commercial understanding of pricing, margins, service delivery economics and client requirements
- Experience implementing recent services, workflows or corporate clients across dispersed teams
- Strong analytical skills and confidence using operational and financial data
- The ability to influence clinicians, practice managers, corporate clients and senior executives
- Excellent project management, organisation and execution capability
- A practical, accountable style with a bias toward implementation
- Sound judgement when distinguishing operational matters from issues requiring clinical escalation

Experience with healthcare technology, workflow automation, practice management systems or employer health platforms would be highly regarded.

Why join Family Doctor?

This is a rare opportunity to build a national Occupational Health operation using an established medical-centre network rather than starting from scratch.

You will have:
- Direct access to the CEO and executive leadership
- A large national practice network from which to build
- Genuine ownership of the operating model and growth plan
- Support from established clinical, operational, finance, technology and business-development teams
- The prospect to shape technology and automation around the service
- A role with clear commercial impact and substantial scope for expansion

If you have built or scaled complex service operations and want genuine ownership of a high-growth national prospect, we would like to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining a service, operation or multi-site program you have successfully implemented or expanded.
