Recruitment Supervisor – Aged Care & Remote Operations
Energy Staff & Desert City | Brisbane
Energy Staff and Desert City are growing, and we need a recruiter who can run a desk, lead a small team and still pick up the phone and fill a role.
We're two businesses under one roof, run by the same team. Energy Staff is a hospitality labour hire business founded by hospitality professionals, with a rapid-growing aged care division across Queensland. Desert City supplies full-time camp attendants, chefs and managers to remote mining camps. This role works across both.
We don't do "bums on seats" recruitment. We put people forward who are compliant, prepared and stay. That takes discipline, and this role is where that discipline lives.
The Role
You'll be one of a team of three, reporting directly to the Staffing Manager. You'll carry your own desk and supervise the day-to-day running of the team, so it's a working supervisor role, not a step back from recruiting.
You will be responsible for:
- Running the full recruitment cycle across both businesses: sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checking and placement
- Sourcing and processing camp attendants, chefs and managers for Desert City's remote-site roles, from first contact through to a fully compliant, ready-to-go candidate
- Sourcing and placing carers, cooks, kitchen and support staff for Energy Staff's aged care clients
- Supervising and supporting the recruitment team on daily priorities, pipeline health and quality of hire
- Managing candidate compliance end to end: police checks, aged care screening, vaccinations, medicals, drug and alcohol testing and pre-employment paperwork
- Managing casual staffing requests and urgent bookings for aged care facilities and hospitality venues
- Building and maintaining talent pools across both businesses
- Writing and posting job ads that attract the right people, and headhunting when the ads don't
- Keeping JobAdder clean, current and reliable,
so leadership can trust the numbers
- Building robust working relationships with clients, site managers and candidates
- Reporting to the Staffing Manager on fill rates, pipeline, compliance status and team output
- Working closely with leadership to support the growth of both businesses
What We're Looking For
- Two or more years' recruitment experience, ideally in labour hire, aged care, healthcare or hospitality
- Experience supervising, mentoring or coordinating other recruiters, or clear evidence you're ready to
- Strong understanding of compliance in a regulated environment; aged care screening and pre-employment medical processes highly regarded
- Hospitality or chef background a genuine advantage
- High-volume screening ability: you can work through 400 applicants and find the ten worth a phone call
- Calm under pressure and comfortable with urgent bookings and short-notice changes
- Highly organised, detail-focused and accountable for your numbers
- Confident using recruitment systems and job boards (JobAdder experience a plus)
- Direct, honest communicator who builds trust quickly with candidates and clients
- Someone who cares about quality and about the people we place
Why Join Us?
- A supervisory role across two growing businesses, with a real path to Staffing Manager and beyond
- Work alongside hospitality professionals who understand the industry
- Two growth sectors, aged care and remote operations, with genuine demand behind both
- Supportive and energetic team culture
- Autonomy and flexibility
- Opportunity to help shape how the team and both businesses run
- Competitive salary + incentives
- Brisbane-based role with face-to-face client and site interaction
We believe great recruitment is built on honesty, relationships and quality service.
If you're a recruiter who wants more responsibility, more ownership and a business that backs you, we'd love to hear from you.
