Great opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join the growing kitchen team at Hunter Valley Resort.

Applicants must have robust experience in busy kitchens, be capable with fast paced, high volume service, take pride in food presentation and be effective in a busy team environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Supporting the Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen
Preparing, cooking, and presenting food to a consistently high standard
Supervising kitchen operations during service in the Head Chef’s absence
Assisting with menu planning, development, and seasonal updates
Monitoring food quality, portion control, and presentation
Assisting with ordering, receiving, and managing food stock and supplies
Controlling food costs, minimising wastage, and maintaining stock rotation
Training, mentoring, and supervising junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen hands
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations
Maintaining a clean, organised,



and safe kitchen environment at all times

About You
Relevant commercial cookery qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a hotel or high-volume venue
Strong leadership and team management skills
Sound knowledge of food safety, kitchen systems, and cost control
Ability to work a rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
