We're currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for an upcoming shutdown project in regional Queensland.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure project work with a well-established industrial contractor while earning excellent hourly rates, overtime, weekend penalties and accommodation or LAFHA.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of mechanical equipment and fixed plant assets during a major industrial shutdown.
You'll work alongside experienced maintenance crews carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, equipment change-outs and breakdown repairs across a range of critical plant assets. Duties will include maintaining and repairing rotating equipment, pumps, valves, conveyors,



gearboxes and other fixed plant equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and quality standards.
A minimum of 2 years' Mechanical Fitting experience within shutdowns, power generation, mining, oil & gas or heavy industrial settings is preferred.
Requirements

To be considered, you will need:
Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
Minimum 2 years' Mechanical Fitting experience
Experience maintaining and repairing rotating equipment, pumps, valves, conveyors, gearboxes and other fixed plant equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Standard Medical with QLD Mines & Quarries Radiology B-Reader Report and Chest X-Ray
Working at Heights (completed within the last 2 years)
Confined Space (completed within the last 2 years)
Ability to pass site mobilisation requirements
Robust commitment to safety and teamwork
