About the role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Italian Chef to join our Italian aged care kitchen team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a chef who enjoys preparing nutritious, wholesome and delicious meals while creating familiar flavours and memorable dining experiences for our residents.

You will be responsible for preparing high-quality Italian-inspired meals while catering to individual dietary requirements, texture-modified diets and the nutritional needs of older adults.

What you'll be doing
Prepare fresh, nutritious and delicious Italian and Mediterranean-style meals.
Develop menus that are varied, seasonal and appealing to residents.
Cater for special dietary requirements, allergies and texture-modified meals.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
Follow food safety, HACCP and aged care food service requirements.
Work closely with the kitchen and care teams to meet residents' nutritional needs.
Monitor food preparation, portion control and kitchen cleanliness.
Create meals that provide a sense of comfort, familiarity and home-style cooking.

What we're looking for
Has proven experience as a Chef, preferably in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or institutional catering.




Has strong Italian cooking skills and a passion for authentic flavours.
Understands the importance of nutrition and dietary requirements for older people.
Has excellent food preparation and organisational skills.
Is reliable, positive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Has knowledge of Australian food safety standards.
Holds relevant food safety qualifications and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
