Job Summary

A Kitchen Hand supports the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, washing dishes, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining hygiene standards and helping chefs deliver high-quality meals.

Key Responsibilities
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment.
Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, floors, and food preparation surfaces.
Assist chefs with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
Receive, unpack, and store food deliveries correctly.
Dispose of waste and recycle materials according to health and safety guidelines.
Restock kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
Assist with setting up and closing down the kitchen each day.
Support the kitchen team with additional tasks as required.





Skills and Qualifications
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Positive communication and teamwork skills.
Solid attention to cleanliness and hygiene.
Physical fitness to stand for long periods and lift moderate loads.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but not always required.
Food safety certification (if required by the employer) is beneficial.

Working Conditions
Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Standing for extended periods.
Working in a hot, busy, and sometimes noisy kitchen setting.

Pay: $26.44 – $27.00 per hour
