About the role

The Operator – Heavy Haulage is responsible for the operation of mobile equipment (50 tonne & 100 tonne) in a protected, efficient and competent manner. You will secure loads to prevent unplanned movements, complete assigned tasks in a timely and secure manner, and exercise judgement and skills to produce job outcomes to the required standard and specification.

Key responsibilities
Perform a thorough pre-start check of equipment at the start of shift and immediately notify supervisor of defects found
Operate equipment in a protected and professional manner at all times, only operating equipment you have been assessed as competent to operate
Secure loads and ensure all load restraint equipment is inspected prior to and after each use
Maintain the operator's cab in a clean and tidy condition with no loose items
Conduct post-check inspection and park equipment safely at the end of each shift
Complete daily production and timesheets accurately with correct machine hours recorded
Report all faults, hazards and incidents in a timely manner to your supervisor




Actively participate in toolbox and safety meetings
Installation and cleaning of delineators, signs and other road maintenance equipment
Perform general labouring duties and assist with other activities as required within your skills and capabilities

About you
Current MC Drivers Licence and Commercial Drivers Medical
2–5 years previous experience in heavy haulage and oversize load operations
Completion of TLIA1001 (Secure Cargo) & TLID0015 (Load and Unload goods/cargo) certification
Completion of TLIF0030 (Fatigue Management) certification
Ability to complete daily inspections and required documentation
Physical fitness that enables work in remote Pilbara region (e.g. physical activity, elevated temperatures, high humidity)
Strong people management and motivation skills
Desirable: FMG or Rio Tinto General Inductions, Senior First Aid Certificate, Basic Fire Fighting, previous experience with Roadtrain operations
