This is a full-time position offering 38 hours per week.
The successful applicant will provide clinical and chairside support to our dentists and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide chairside assistance to dentists during dental procedures
Prepare treatment rooms, dental instruments, equipment and materials
Assist dentists with a range of general dental procedures
Clean, disinfect and sterilise dental instruments and equipment
Follow infection prevention and control procedures and relevant practice protocols
Prepare patients for treatment and assist with patient care before, during and after procedures
Maintain clean, organised and appropriately stocked treatment rooms
Maintain accurate clinical and patient records
Provide professional, friendly and respectful care to patients
Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, reception staff and other members of the dental team
Undertake other clinical and practice-related duties as required
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant must have:
Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent
Previous experience working as a Dental Assistant
Sound knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and equipment
Experience with dental instrument sterilisation and infection control
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A professional, friendly and patient-focused manner
Solid organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a busy dental practice
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and infection control
