Dog Daycare Attendant – Casual

Urban Hounds is looking for a reliable, responsible and experienced Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team on a casual basis.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs and understands that daycare is about safety, supervision, wellbeing and responsible handling — not just playing with dogs.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising and safely managing groups of dogs throughout the day
Monitoring behaviour, interactions, energy levels and play styles
Providing enrichment, activities and engagement
Recognising signs of stress, illness, injury or changes in behaviour
Feeding dogs and providing basic care as required
Maintaining a clean, protected and organised daycare setting
Communicating professionally with customers and the team
Following Urban Hounds’ safety, hygiene and operational procedures
Creating and posting regular content to Urban Hounds’ Instagram, including photos, videos and Stories throughout the day

What We’re Looking For

Previous professional experience working in a dog daycare environment is essential.

The successful applicant will ideally be:
Confident and experienced handling groups of dogs
Passionate about dogs and their wellbeing
Reliable,



punctual and responsible
Calm, observant and confident in a busy environment
Physically active and comfortable being on your feet throughout the day
A good communicator and team player
Proactive and willing to take responsibility
Comfortable with cleaning and all aspects of daycare operations
Confident using Instagram and creating engaging social media content

Important

Please only apply if you have previous skilled dog-handling experience, preferably in a dog daycare or similar environment.

This is a hands-on role involving significant responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of multiple dogs.
