Position Overview

Westplex is seeking a reliable and physically fit labourer to operate and assist on our screed pump truck. This is a physically demanding, full-time role with prospects to grow skills and develop your career within our commercial tiling business.

Working Hours

Early starts are typical, with work often commencing at 6:00 AM from the yard.

Main Responsibilities – Screed Pump Truck

Before Site

● Maintain adequate stock of slurry and levelling compounds in the van and truck

● Ensure all required equipment and supplies are loaded and ready

● Arrive at site ahead of the truck to assess and secure a suitable parking spot

Setup & Operation

● Set up the pump truck on site

● Prepare and lay out hoses to the screeding area

● Verify all hose connections are secure

● Communicate with screeders and operate the truck during work

● Assist screeders as needed while managing truck operations

● Monitor truck and mixer performance throughout the day

Cleanup & Packing

This phase involves significant physical work, including pulling and managing heavy hoses.

● Pressure wash the mixer area after screeding to remove all residual cement





● Pull all hoses back to the truck

● Wash out hoses internally to ensure they're transparent for the next job

● Collect all tools, pots, and equipment

● Pack and secure the truck for transport

● Support yard loading operations when needed

Secondary Duties

On days when the truck isn't on site, general labouring tasks including:

● Warehouse and materials handling

● Carting and organizing stock

● Other labouring support for our commercial tiling business

What We're Looking For

● Physically fit and capable of demanding manual labour

● Comfortable lifting, carrying, and pulling heavy equipment (hoses, tools, materials)

● Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

● Valid driver's licence (required)

● Willingness to learn truck operation and maintenance

● Able to work as part of a team in quick-paced environments
