About the role

Slide Show is a Melbourne-based womenswear wholesale and product development company. We work with Australian and international brands, online boutiques, and retail clients across design development, fabric sourcing, sampling, and bulk production. We are currently looking for a talented Womenswear Designer to join our team.

Key responsibilities
Design womenswear styles based on client briefs, moodboards, and market trends
Create CADs, technical drawings, and design concepts
Assist with the development of seasonal collections and capsule ranges
Research fabrics, trims, colours, prints, and market trends
Work closely with pattern makers, sample makers, factories, and the production team
Review samples and provide transparent fit and design comments
Assist with tech packs, measurement specs, and development documents
Ensure designs are commercially suitable for the Australian and international womenswear market

Additional Requirements / Skills:
Comfortable using AI tools to support the design process, including moodboard creation, concept development, print direction, colour exploration, and presentation visuals
Ability to design original prints and patterns for womenswear collections, including floral, placement, conversational, geometric, and seasonal prints




Able to use AI as a creative support tool while still ensuring designs are commercially suitable, technically achievable, and aligned with the brand/customer brief
Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, including AI-assisted editing, recolouring, print development, and layout presentation, is preferred

About you
3 years experience in womenswear design
Strong understanding of woven and knit garments, including dresses, tops, pants, skirts, and outerwear
Ability to create clear CADs and technical drawings
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Valuable understanding of fabrics, garment construction, fit, and production processes
Solid eye for detail, colour, print, and trends
Excellent communication and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in wholesale, private label, or offshore production is highly regarded
Must be able to read and write Mandarin Chinese
