About the role
We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and safety-conscious Vineyard Tractor Operator to join our team for the upcoming busy season. This is a seasonal contract position, but for a standout operator who fits our team culture, there is a genuine opportunity to transition into a permanent, year-round position. You will be responsible for operating a variety of contemporary vineyard tractors and specialized implements across our managed properties, focusing on precision operation and safety.
Key responsibilities
Safely operate vineyard tractors equipped with various attachments for spraying, slashing, mulching, undervine weeding, trimming, and netting application
Assist with mechanical harvesting or towing grape gondolas/bins during the busy vintage peak
Conduct daily pre-start machinery checks, refueling, basic cleaning, and troubleshooting of tractors and implements
Assist with hands-on vineyard tasks, including trellis repairs, irrigation maintenance, and vine training when machinery work is quiet
Adhere strictly to company Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols and chemical application procedures
About you
Previous experience operating tractors, ideally within a vineyard, orchard, or similar agricultural setting
Valid Driver's License (Essential)
Current Chemical Application Certificate (e.g., ChemCert) is highly regarded. However, we are willing to organize and fund ChemCert training for the right candidate
High attention to detail, especially for spray accuracy
Strong work ethic and physical fitness required to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
Willingness to work extended hours or shifts during peak vintage periods if required
