About the role

As a Youth Mentor with Village Pathways, you will work directly with young people in community and outreach settings, building positive relationships and providing practical and emotional support. Through our specialised outreach program, you will provide meaningful mentoring, guidance, support and connection to help young people build confidence, resilience and positive pathways for their future.

Key responsibilities
Providing one-on-one mentoring and support to young people
Building positive, respectful and trusting relationships
Engaging young people through our specialised outreach program
Supporting young people to develop confidence, resilience and life skills
Encouraging positive choices, participation and community engagement aligned with our outreach programme supports
Connecting young people with appropriate community and support services
Working collaboratively with our Outreach Team and community partners
Supporting young people to identify their strengths, goals and future pathways
Maintaining skilled records and following organisational policies and safeguarding requirements





About you
Previous experience working in Youth Work or Mentoring is desired
Solid communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to engage young people in a respectful and non-judgemental way
A positive, strengths-based approach to working with young people
The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team
A current Blue Card is mandatory
A current unrestricted Class C Driver Licence is mandatory
Availability to work Monday to Friday
The ability to travel to community locations as required
