Coastal Midwest Transport is looking for a motivated and skilled Trailer Mechanic, Skilled Trades Assistant and or Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in our Welshpool depot.
We are seeking someone with solid practical mechanical ability, particularly experienced with semi-trailer servicing and trailer repairs on top, knowledgeable about 12V systems on flat tops, curtain siders, drop decks and dollys.
Truck mechanical work and basic electrical work will also be involved in the role, along with general workshop duties and occasional breakdown/call-out work, we do have a near recent breakdown van setup currently ready for use.
● Experience with truck mechanical repairs and servicing, our fleet currently has DAF, Freightliner, MAN and Isuzu
● Robust trailer electrical and wiring skills
● Good knowledge of air systems and pneumatic components
● Experience with air brake systems, including fault finding and repairs
● Experience with suspension, braking and running gear
● Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and air system faults
● Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification is desirable
● Licensed Repairer ticket/qualification is highly desirable
● Ability and willingness to attend breakdowns and call outs when required
● Own suitable tooling.
