About the role

Powerhouse Supplies is looking for someone to help grow the next chapter of the electrical wholesale and lighting business. This role involves building genuine relationships with trade customers, visiting job sites and customer locations, and turning conversations into long-term business prospects. You will work independently across Cairns and Far North Queensland, connecting with electricians and other trade customers to understand their needs and represent Powerhouse within the local trade community.

Key responsibilities
Building relationships with electricians and other trade customers throughout Cairns and Far North Queensland
Visiting customers, workshops and job sites
Winning new trade accounts
Reconnecting with previous Powerhouse customers
Developing existing customer accounts
Following up quotes and project opportunities
Helping customers make use of the Trade Express drive-through service
Working with suppliers on trade promotions and events
Identifying construction and project opportunities
Supporting the lighting showroom's relationships with builders and electricians

About you
Electrical, construction or trade-industry knowledge




Electrical wholesale or supplier experience — highly regarded
An existing network within the local trade community — highly regarded
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence approaching new customers
Commercial common sense
An understanding that outstanding sales come from great service
Comfortable use of phones, digital systems and social media
The motivation to work independently and generate opportunities
