The Opportunity:

Our client is Australia's No. 1 supplier of structural and treated timber nationally, supplying quality timber products across the country, and is seeking a proactive and responsible Maintenance Fitter to join the team and become a part of a hardworking production team. Opportunity to move into Maintenance Supervisor role at outstanding rates.
Monday to Friday – 8hr shifts
Wages starting from $56.25/hr with Penalty rates up to $101.25/hr plus Superannuation
Prospects to advance to Maintenance Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs
Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and component replacement
Work on conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Assist with training and mentoring apprentice
Demonstrate practical guidance and maintenance tasks adhering to safe work practices and fault finding

Requirements to fulfill the role:




Trade Qualification with a Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent
Previous experience in maintenance fitting with manufacturing, timber, sawmill or heavy industrial environments including conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown experience
Robust understanding of WHS, isolation and lockout/tagout procedures
Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
Be physically fit and healthy and able to pass Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol Screening
Comfortable working in a dusty, noisy and physically demanding setting
