We are partnering with a global law firm and are recruiting a Senior Associate for the Melbourne General Insurance team The firm acts for Insurers and their Insured practitioners and health providers in defendant medical negligence and related claims. In addition, the firm offers a perks package that is set at a global standard and sits well above the Melbourne market at this level.

The role:



You will conduct medical negligence and health liability files from initial advice through to hearing.

This includes liability and quantum advice, briefing medical and other experts, drafting, appearing at court and mediations, and dealing directly with insurers and insured practitioners.

The role reports to a partner who is looking to delegate substantial responsibility, and includes mentoring junior lawyers and the opportunity to develop a profile in the health sector with a global firm.

Requirements:
Minimum four years post admission experience in defendant insurance litigation
Medical malpractice or health liability experience is strongly preferred; strong defendant personal injury lawyers seeking to specialise will be considered
Experience advising insurers and managing insurer expectations
Proficiency with iManage or a comparable document management system and disciplined time recording
