We are looking for a Permanent Full-Time Senior Payroll Officer to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end fortnightly payroll for approximately 750 staff across BASSCARE. This is a hands‐on role where your payroll expertise will play an important part in ensuring our people are paid accurately, on time and in accordance with relevant legislation, awards and agreements.
A key focus of this role is navigating our Enterprise Agreement, SCHADS Award, Retail Award and salary packaging arrangements, while maintaining strong governance, compliance and payroll processes.

What You'll Be Doing
Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll in accordance with relevant Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
Maintain complete employee lifecycle records in the payroll system including onboarding, terminations, variations and award rule tagging.
Ensure accurate calculation and payment of wages, allowances, overtime, leave, termination payments and other entitlements.
Prepare, reconcile and submit Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports, superannuation contributions and issue employee payslips.
Review payroll prior to payment, investigate variances and ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
Administer salary packaging and other deductions in accordance with legislation and organisational requirements.
Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and provide guidance and support on payroll processes.
Assist with audits, government and ABS reporting, payroll projects and system improvements as required.
Support payroll system testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system implementation and functional process improvements.
Hours of Work & Location
Permanent Full Time
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
What You Bring
You are an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working with people, systems and numbers. You are highly organised, detail-oriented and take pride in getting payroll right the first time.
Proven hands‐on experience managing end-to-end payroll processing in a multi-award or EA environment.
Solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, STP compliance and Super Pay Day.
Demonstrated experience with payroll software, data management, and system reconciliations.
Exceptional attention to detail and customer service skills when resolving pay queries.
A commitment to confidentiality, accuracy and maintaining high standards of payroll governance.
