This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of complex environmental projects across Australia while helping drive strong project performance, financial outcomes, and client value.The opportunityYou'll work closely with Team Executives, Project Managers, and finance partners to support a portfolio of projects from a delivery and performance perspective.
This role is central to ensuring projects run smoothly — from financial tracking and reporting through to identifying risks and opportunities across the portfolio.What you'll doContribute to successful portfolio delivery in accordance with Project Management best practices and effectively engage with clients and stakeholdersApply Project Controls, Contracts Administration and Cost Planning into project systems and processes on multiple work packagesPartner with the Project Manager and project team to create and monitor budgets, validate invoicing, support project close-out, and reconcile overall project payables and receivablesPlay a key role in the performance of the project team to meet client outcomes, deliver tangible benefits, and maintain profitabilityAssist with weekly time tracking and reportingChampion excellent health, safety, and quality practiceLiaise with Project Finance Specialists (PFS)
to undertake budget updatesAssist with procurement activities to ensure suppliers are properly approved and engagedProvide financial updates for monthly and quarterly reports, including preparation of information for Team Executives to support decision makingAttend project review meetings with Team Executives, maintaining action tracking and follow-upReview project and pipeline portfolios to identify "red flags," including overdue or pending itemsEscalate project issues with delegated authority from Business Unit leadershipSupport invoicing for large client portfoliosSupport initiatives to enhance service delivery and client experienceContribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and recommending solutions About youYou're a proactive, systems-minded professional who enjoys working with project data, creating clarity, and supporting high-performing teams.You will bring:Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline2–6 years' experience applying coordination or project support skillsWorking knowledge of project management principles (e.g. PMI framework)Project controls and/or junior project reporting experienceKnowledge of cost control and/or cost reporting systems,
procedures and practicesStrong organisational skills with excellent attention to detailProven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience in a consulting environment and/or PMP certification (desirable)Demonstrated experience supporting project or program delivery across multiple concurrent tasksAbility to interpret and work across various data sources, systems, and trackers with a high level of accuracyConfident engagement with technical teams and internal stakeholders What we offerAt WSP, we're committed to supporting our people to thrive professionally and personally.
