The OpportunityThe Business Development Manager position will play a pivotal role in driving our clients commercial growth.
This role leads client engagement, identifying new opportunities across target sectors, and builds strategic partnerships.
Working closely with the internal project development team, the Business Development Manager shapes bespoke solutions that align with client needs, market demand, and regulatory or ESG requirements.The Tasks AheadLead business development activities across APC's core sectors (government, mining/resources, agriculture, finance, renewables, Aboriginal Corporations, and philanthropic organisations)Identify, pursue, and secure new commercial and funding opportunities, including tenders, grants, and joint venturesBuild and manage relationships such as corporate, industry,
government seeking high-integrity nature-based solutionsWork closely with the internal project development team to design and shape bespoke products and servicesDevelop compelling proposals and support the preparation of investment concepts, bids, and consultancy offersMaintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant market dynamics (carbon, biodiversity, ESG, offsets, bonds, etc.) and ensure APC is positioned to respondSupport brand positioning, capability development, and strategic messaging to target audiencesContribute to reporting, pipeline forecasting, and commercial planning alongside the CEOAbout YouYou are a proactive and detail-oriented skilled who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Your ability to work both independently and as part of a team sets you apart a thisis a hands-on, outward-facing position that requires a blend of strategic insight, commercial acumen, sector experience, and client-focused delivery.Key RequirementsProven experience in business development or client management within consulting, environmental markets, infrastructure, financial/banking markets, natural resource management, or related sectorsStrong track record in securing and managing commercial contracts, tenders, and partnershipsDemonstrated ability to translate client needs into technical project opportunitiesKnowledge of ESG frameworks, carbon/biodiversity markets, or sustainable development fieldsExceptional relationship-building and communication skillsStrategic thinker with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindsetGovernment and CommunitiesAboriginal CorporationsResources Sector (Mining & Minerals)AgriculturePower, Renewables and EnergyBanking and FinanceCorporate SectorsThe BenefitsSalary based on experience (salary bands between $130-$150K)
