Hays are partnered with a Defence Consultancy supporting a program delivering next-generation ISR capabilities, software factory solutions, data platforms and AI-enabled technologies across classified Defence environments. The team supports critical Defence initiatives and emerging Defence investment programs.

Your recent role

We are seeking several NV1-cleared Platform Engineers and Software Developers to support the design, development, deployment and sustainment of contemporary cloud-native platforms operating on classified Defence networks.

You will work alongside Defence stakeholders to deliver software factory capabilities, AI platforms and secure DevSecOps solutions supporting ISR mission outcomes.

Key responsibilities include
Developing and deploying cloud-native platform solutions
Building secure software delivery pipelines
Implementing Infrastructure as Code practices
Supporting Kubernetes and CNCF technology stacks
Developing and integrating data and AI platforms
Managing software artefacts and release bundles




Engaging Defence stakeholders to gather technical requirements
Supporting deployment into classified air-gapped environments

Primarily onsite across Defence classified environments - Edinburgh, SA / Fairbairn, ACT / Fishermans Bend, VIC

What you'll need to succeed
Current NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)
Australian Citizenship
Software Engineering or Platform Engineering experience
Experience with Kubernetes and CNCF technologies
DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline experience
Infrastructure as Code expertise
Experience working within Defence or classified settings
Experience with Iron Bank, ASD or Defence secure development environments highly regarded
AI, Data Platform or Software Factory experience advantageous
