Job Description:Excellent perks including salary packagingEast Melbourne location2 roles available:1x Max Term, Full Time Parental Leave cover until August *****x Permanent, Part Time (0.6 FTE)About the RoleThe Home Therapy Unit provides assessment, training, education and ongoing support for patients undertaking both Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis at Home.An opportunity currently exists for Grade 2 Registered Nurses to join the Dialysis Home Therapies Team.
As a Grade 2 Registered Nurse you will be responsible for the delivery of expert nursing care and support to patients undergoing Haemodialysis or Peritoneal Dialysis at home.
Additionally, you will specifically review current assessment and training practices within the Home Therapies Unit and develop tools and KPI's to effectively assist nursing staff.
Classifications for this position will range from YU11 ($102,****** per annum) (pro-rata as applicable).
DutiesPatient assessment.Patient and family Education and trainingHome visiting for training and AssessmentDocument, observe and report relevant nursing findings about patients' status' and progressLiaise with patients, patient's family, medical and ancillary staff as requiredActs as a role model and provide support to junior staff in all clinical aspects Actively participate and contribute to all departmental quality improvementsQualifications, Skills and ExperienceMinimum 24 months previous experience in Renal Nursing and/or experience with Peritoneal Dialysis essentialMinimum 12 months experience in HaemodialysisExperience in patient and staff educationProficiency in clinical nursing assessment skillsAbility to work autonomously prioritise tasks and activities to foster good time managementOperate within a "patient centred care" frameworkFacilitate team outcomes in a multidisciplinary environmentAssist and support change and implement process improvementsCommunicate effectively, with patients and staff at all levelsComputer Literacy- Microsoft word and dialysis user applicationsWhat we offerSalary Packaging – Increase your take home pay!
