Working largely autonomously and reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for keeping our recycling and processing equipment running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on maintenance role primarily focused on preventative maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting and supporting our production team during the afternoon/night shifts.
Key responsibilities
Carrying out preventative and scheduled maintenance across the facility
Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and production issues
Diagnosing problems with pumps, motors, conveyors and processing equipment
General mechanical repairs and maintenance
Fabrication and welding work
Assisting operators with equipment and process-related issues
Maintaining accurate maintenance records
Assisting with continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Working closely with the afternoon/night shift to ensure a smooth handover
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised maintenance area
About you
Previous experience in a mechanical trade or maintenance role
Robust general mechanical knowledge
Experience with pumps, motors, bearings, conveyors and mechanical equipment
Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Fabrication and welding experience highly regarded
Electrical connect/disconnect experience or relevant qualification highly regarded
The ability to work independently and prioritise maintenance requirements
A strong safety focus
